Paintings Inside the Frigate
Since January, the Hermione project receives the "Chantier Nautique du Vieux Port" from La Rochelle to paint the frigate.
In a first time, painters have to prepare surface to be painted on the Orlop deck and on the deck. This work consists to sandpaper, vacuum-clean and mask unpainted parts.

Then, a coating is applied on the ceiling. This white ground colour has as a role to saturate wood and to protect it.

Work is continued by the successive application of three coats of paint with a roller lacquerer or a brush according to the surface and the precision of certain parts.

Last coat on the Orlop deck, the flooring is unpainted.

In the large room to the back of the frigate, the completions are more worked. We can find different colours: ceiling is red, moulding in white and ports in grey.
