The Upper/Lower Channel
Since the beginning of the year, a team composed of 5 carpenters from Asselin Company works on the upper channel. There are 2 upper channels per mast. In the end, it will be 6 upper channels before the end of April.

Several steps to realize all items:

Firstly, we need to make some sconces to support upper channels. For the foremast, carpenters realized 8 consoles for the starboard upper channel. Same for the port. The consoles are nailed and pinned with the hull.

Secondly, we have to produce platforms by an assembly of 3 encased and bolted parts of oaks.

Boards are notched to permit the installation of upper channel.

A moulding is added on the 3 sides of the upper channel.

Last step: to fix upper and lower channel by bolting them to the hull avoiding fixings already posed.
