Guardrails are installed on the forecastle-deck to avoid some falls.  Forks in wrought iron maintain these guardrails.

To realize these stanchions, workmen use steel bar of 40mms in diameter. With these hot steel bars, they will realize a chisel some notch to form a fork.

There are 12 stanchions in each side of the frigate attached to the deck. These folks could be moved to allow steerage from the rowboat.
