Pumps
beginning 2009
On board the frigate were installed water pumps used to empty the water remaining at the bottom of the ship. Such wooden boats were never full watertight.
As we keep as much possible to the historical ship, a team of carpenters and blacksmiths have entirely realized the waterpumps.
Made of forged steel and wook (iroko), they cross through the ship from part to part, from the top deck down to the hold. They operate after pulling levers from the topdeck.
After trial and tests, the pumps operate very well.
