On this photo, you can see the door to the port side “bottle” under construction on the Hermione frigate . “Bottles” are half-turrets placed outside the ship, on each side of the stern, that are used as latrines by the officers. They are decorated outside with sculptures and have windows lined with pilasters (pillars).
